Parents Victimized by Child Protective Services
Teachers, doctors and a number of other professionals are legally obligated to report to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), also known as the CPS, what they interpret as signs of child abuse. A number of these reports are based on misinterpretations of stories as related by young children or common elements of childhood such as bruising from roughhousing.
