Police accidentally shoot 7-year-old girl in house search

Mertilla Jones recounted the horrific death of her granddaughter this evening outside the home where the 7-year-old was killed by a police bullet.

"They blew my granddaughter's brains out. They killed her right before my eyes," Jones said. "I watched the light go out of her eyes. I seen it."

  1. OMG I read the article, they are all over the place.

    All different opinions too.

Mine is this...if they felt so strongly that the suspect was in that particular apartment, apparently it was a duplex, which probably has 2 doors, okay not likely the suspect could get away if the doors and windows were being covered. Seems the family resided with the childs grandmother, I´m sure they knew that because I do believe you need to be prreettyyy sure about things or they may have to think twice about a no knock warrant. If the husband and wife lived with the grandmother maybe they didnt think about the husband and wife may just have children...or maybe the just assumed that CPS had taken them all from that area..and here is a police officer, swat type Im sure, allegedly wrestling with a woman.... She was so bad that they threw a Stun Grenade through the glass of the Front Window.....never thinking about anyone or anything except arresting a SUSPECT of a crime. Now a little girl is dead. Her grandmother described it and it is so upsetting to think about. A child is dead and this woman is a SUSPECT.......I have lost a child at age 8. I can say that these people will be forever changed. The mother they said,

Mertilla Jones was held until Sunday afternoon, and it remained unclear if she will face charges. Police said she spent several hours hospitalized with what police described as medical issues.¨

Until Sunday afternoon....they had to let her go.......medical issues, yeah Im sure it was more life PTSD-grief. Wonder if they brought someone in to console her...this is so bad.....

keep sending the news, good or bad, we have to address these issues....hugs Callie
