Date set for foster mother's murder trial
The second trial for an Edmonton foster mother, charged with the murder of a three-year-old boy in her care, won't happen for almost another year.
The court has set April, 2011 for the start of what's expected to be a month-long trial for the woman. She can't be named, in order to protect the identity of the child.
Note: Why do we need to protect the identity of the child?

What does the article mean to protect the identity of the child?? The child is already dead.
LK asked:: Why do we need to protect the identity of the child?
It is either
(1) the dead boy could be emotionally harmed by the newspaper publicity or
(2) the child protectors could be embarrassed by publication of his picture, biography and stories of his grieving parents.
Can you help me figure out which?
