The day they took my baby
There is something indescribable about looking into the tiny, unfocussed eyes of your newborn for the first time. But from the 50s to the 70s many young, single Australian mothers were robbed of that experience under the practise of forced adoptions. Others were only allowed to hold their baby after they'd signed papers to adopt them out. This is the story of one of those young women, Cawongla's Lina Eve and a midwife, 'Mary' who says all the horror stories are true.
