Taxpayer money used to overmedicate foster children
Children in foster care in five states are taking psychotropic drugs at a rate "two to over four times higher" than non-foster children in Medicaid according to a draft of a new government report obtained by CBS News.
I agree. I worked for CPS in Texas and noticed almost every child in the sytem is either labeled bi-polar, ADD or ADHD. Then my sister had two children placed with her and she stated one child was out of control (he was just an energetic 5 year old and she was middle-aged) and the doctor put him on medicine without even testing. Kids need to be off these drugs if they are just helping the parents cope. I agree 100% with this report.
