At least 86 children died in a 10-year period while in the custody of a giant for-profit foster care company, according to an investigation by the US Senate Committee on Finance. In only 13 of those deaths did the company, The Mentor Network, conduct an internal investigation, the committee found.

Alpharetta police say they arrested a mother after they found her driving drunk with a toddler in the car.

Channel 2’s Mike Petchenik obtained dash cam video of Alpharetta police conducting a field sobriety test on 45-year-old Stacy Clubb.

In a rare move, a San Diego federal judge reversed a jury verdict that had cleared county social workers of fault for their conduct in an investigation into child abuse allegations against a family.

U.S. District Court Judge Roger Benitez also concluded that a longstanding county policy allowing investigators to interview children at their school without the consent of parents or a court order was at fault.

The Richardson police and Federal Bureau of Investigation sleuths are on an extensive search in Texas for a 3-year-old Indian girl who went missing on October 7 after her foster father allegedly asked her to stand outside the house late in the night as a punishment for not drinking milk.

A 17-year-old girl found shot to death in Atlanta on Sept. 21 told police three months before she went missing that she was raped at an apartment in north Columbus.

The Ledger-Enquirer received the 13-page case report after submitting an open records request to the Columbus Police Department.

TONGANOXIE, Kan. — The Tonganoxie Police Department has arrested Rigoberto Reyes Rangel, also known as Rico Rangel, as a person of interest in a case of three adolescent girls who ran away from their foster home in August.

They say they are now safe.  But in reality, they are in foster care.  Therefore they are not necessarily safe.







Cape Town - A father accused of raping, sodomising and “sexually grooming” his now teenage foster child was granted R500 bail in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court yesterday, with strict conditions that he stays at a different address for the duration of the case.

Additional bail conditions include that the couple don't communicate with witnesses and don’t go to Town Two in Khayelitsha.

Fountain says, he didn't know Davis was a foster parent, but witnessed possible child neglect a few weeks ago, with other children. He claimed to have notified the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) of his concerns.

"I was totally blown off and told they would handle it and 5 weeks later this is what we got," Fountain said of the now tragic situation. News 9 has also learned there were several referrals on the foster home, prior to baby Jacob being placed with the family.

A man who allegedly forced foster children to eat frozen vomit, stand with their noses against a wall for hours and repeatedly go to school in pyjamas has been refused a Working with Children Check Clearance.

The horrific ongoing abuse was put before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, which on Wednesday said the man, now a medical practitioner, poses a risk to children.
