Hartland man fights against state for daughter
A Michigan law favors the paternity rights of an imprisoned Kentucky man over those of the biological father of a 5-year-old girl.
The state Paternity Act of 1956 prohibits a man claiming to be a biological father from seeking paternity if the child's mother was married to another man between the time the child was conceived and born.
