A state probe of the Conecuh County Department of Human Resources shows it investigated abuse allegations by telephone, didn't enforce a state ban on corporal punishment by foster parents, and failed to make efforts to place foster children with family members, among other problems, according to a report released Thursday.

Golden wants to be a dad to his own son and daughter - and for seven years he's been fighting to do what so many men don't fight for at all.
It was only in April, when a family-court judge awarded Golden full custody of his daughter, 9-year-old Kameara, that he was able to start being the type of father that would have made his dad proud.
But Golden's 7-year-old son, Keream, remains in the care of the Department of Human Services, and Golden said that the agency is attempting to terminate his parental rights and put the boy up for adoption.

In response to Jan Feuer’s July 23 letter looking for foster families for foster children in New Hampshire: If the state DCYF abided by their own laws, there wouldn’t be so many children in foster care. State and federal mandates are not followed in the removal and placement of children by DCYF. Services are not given before a child is removed, and relative placement is not an option, at least in Nashua.

It's no secret that I follow a lot of foster blogs. I feel it's important to show all of you wonderful people the type of people they will give our kids to. It's one of the worst cases of child abuse Midwest City Police say they've ever seen. A foster mother accused of branding a child all over his body.
Chief Brandon Clabes, Midwest City Police Department, said "You know how painful it is when you just get a minor burn. Can you imagine this poor, little 9 year old being repeatedly branded by a woman who's supposed to be taking care of him & loving him?"
Midwest City Police say the 9-year-old boy suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns from his foster mother as a punishment.
Note: I'll bet his real parents never did anything like that.

NZ referendum to decide child discipline law
New Zealanders are about to vote on Friday on whether or not parents have the right to physically discipline their kids. They will start casting postal votes in a referendum on the country's controversial anti-smacking laws. But to most outsiders this exercise in direct democracy seems somewhat strange, and whatever the result, the politicians have said they have no intention of changing the law. But that hasn't dampened the passion on either side of this rather awkwardly worded question.

A California judge ruled that an independent lawyer should oversee the financial estate of Nadya Suleman's octuplets to ensure they are not exploited for entertainment purposes, reports the Associated Press. The ruling by Orange County judge Gerald Johnston stems from a legal petition filed by former Disney Mouseketeer Paul Peterson, an advocate for show-business children. Suleman's attorney, Arthur J. LaCilento, argued that appointing a financial guardian for her children violated the family's right to privacy, but Johnston said, "I do believe it is appropriate and justifiable at this time to provide an objective voice to report to the court." Suleman -- who is slated to begin shooting a reality show featuring her 14 children on Sept. 1, pending court approval of the children's TV contracts -- attended the hearing but did not speak.

Cops & Child Protective Services abuse children when they take them from innocent parents
I have often argued that Child Protective Services and the police are guilty of abusing children. I don't mean they are guilty of abuse went they take children from homes where the parents have sexually and physically abused them, or where children have been neglected through starvation and the like. What I mean is that when children are taken from innocent parents, which happens a lot more than the public realizes, they are often abused.

We,the people
"We,the people, call for a NEW era in "child protective services"--an era that does not vilify parents. Rather, an era of "Compassionate Preventative Services" and of FAMILY-oriented services. Where removal of a child from their family home is truly a last resort or for a truly life-saving one--NOT the answer to ALL "concerns" as it has been misused for.
Further, we, the people, the parents, and future parents, call for better, broader funding that ASSISTS FAMILIES to stay together and to maintain a decent home. This can include, but not limited to, a wide range of services: from drug/alcohol prevention and treatment, to providing child care centers and better funding, to a better food pantry system, to possibly attaching aid programs to social security numbers, in order to verify need, housing, employment, etc. with one piece of information required instead of several as it is now. (this would also reduce the need for paper as well, being "green")..,,,,We want the actual help we made need instead of family destruction......"

Social Workers should remain a constant voice for foster children
When a child has been in foster care for any length of time, each move is more important than the next. During their transition, foster children will often feel a sense of fear and uncertainty. The responsibility of the social worker is to communicate with that foster child about whatever feelings that child is having and to slowly make necessary changes to help that foster child along their journey.

CHILDREN in the foster care system have a tough row to hoe. And if they are involved with the Social Security Administration, the plot thickens. Their troubles aren't just with the Department of Children and Family Services who have removed them from their families.
Foster children, all too often, are mistreated by far too many people who are supposed to be providing them services and also by members of the general public who quite often seem to think these kids don't qualify as real people.

I assure you, it was only a movie, and a good one. If you are into horror movies like I am, you won't be disappointed.
What's sad is the fact that the chronic anal-retentive's are so upset about it. You'd think that people could think independently enough to realize that 33 year old movie psycho's can't really pass themselves off as a 9 year old child.

Newborn Taken from Parents Because Mom Refused C-Section
A mom in New Jersey acted erratically while in labor. She was combative. She was noncompliant. She refused to submit to a cesarean section. She then gave birth vaginally to a normal, healthy baby (apparently not an unavoidable c-section, ya know?). That baby was taken from her. Her parental rights were terminated. She and her partner left the hospital without their baby, and their baby was given to foster parents.

CeCe writes...
LK, you know I have my own serious issues with the system, but it really is about the laws. We need to come together to change the laws first, then the system. Teach people at young ages how to make choices so that they can be better parents. Perhaps, high school health should be changed to parenting classes? At least the CPS system is doing something to intervene for the sake of abused/neglected children. You seem to think that the CPS system portrays itself to the solution to abuse. The only solution to abuse and neglect is for parents to stop abusing and neglecting their children. For parents to admit that they are ill-equipped to adequately care for their children, and get the help they need. For parents to put their children's needs above their own. Period. Now, I am not going to be mean to CeCe. I honestly believe that this is a well meaning foster parent who cares for the child in her home. I don't believe she is in it for the money like many others or anything like that, but I do believe that she has a lot to learn.

Louise Uccio and LK (Legally Kidnapped) condone violence?
Yep you read that right. Like many other "shared aprenting advoctaes" these two (one?) have condoned violence:
Note: First of all, I am not Louise Uccio, although it is an honor to be mistaken with such a wonderful blogger. Louise runs one of my personal favorite blogs which is called Disgusted With The System.
Second of all, I don't condone violence. I work to expose the lie the Child Protective Industry wants you to believe, which is that they are the answer to the problem of Child Abuse and Neglect, and that the foster care system causes more harm than good. I speak, rather loudly, for the victims of CPS.
Third of all, CG over at Glens Cult obviously is a man-hating lesbian who loves making false accusations and can't stand the thought that fathers are parents too or that she actually needs a man to make a child.
And finally, there is no such thing as bad publicity. So if anybody want's to bash me on their blogs, that's fine, just get the link right. That's http://www.LegallyKidnapped.blogspot.com

The abuse of children was once tolerated to a large extent by society. In the United States, it was 1874 when the abuse of an eight year old named Mary Ellen Wilson so upset the neighbors, that they took action. New York had child abuse laws on
the books, and neighbors contacted the police, but the authorities did not want to 'interfere' with how a family disciplines their child.

When Child Protective Services in Montgomery County says, “Jump!” you are supposed to respond by asking, “How high?” If you don’t, they will try to make your life miserable. I know because I just ended a five-year battle with them. I was reported to Child Protective Services three times. The first time the investigator said there was no credible evidence to support a charge of neglect. The second and third times, she said there was, but she was overturned by an administrative law judge at fair hearings held by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Grace the Foster Mommy is begging for money because the public school system isn't good enough for her beloved foster kid. I do, however, think that she is probably exaggerating the situation. I guess the state isn't paying enough.

Just sending you a little update from Ontario, Canada on the citizens efforts to address and correct corruption within the child protection industry and legal system.
The private corporations have desperately been trying to silence the growing dissent and activism rapidly organizing in the province. Common threats of legal action or false promises to return stolen children are the prefered method of the mafia style system. The child trafficing corporations are now using massive amounts of tax payer money slotted for children to run public relations ads and hire lawyers to sue the citizens exposing them. The child protection industry, legal system, and ministry, profit from this racket and work closely together in thier own best interest. The best interest of the child, like it so often does, takes a back seat to the real economic agenda hiding under the carefully chosen, feel good slogan.
The truth must be hidden and those speaking out must be silenced in the best interest of the corporations and individuals profitting from the system.
Do you think normal people can go into someones home, snatch children, and then falisfy court documents to gain custody of children for funding? No... it's takes really sick people to do that.

William Dunn, 44, of Lakeland, Florida is suing that state's Department of Children and Families, claiming that it failed to properly investigate an allegation of child sexual abuse against him. Read about it here (The Ledger, 7/13/09). Florida DCF separated Dunn from his daughter for almost a year before determining that no abuse had occurred. Apparently the child had told the agency that her father had sexually abused her and then recanted the charge at the final hearing into the matter.

But the nearly 20,000 children in Pennsylvania's foster care system -- placed due to abuse or neglect -- should not have to wait one more day for us to make life better for them.
