2 teens with 'significant mental health issues' missing after leaving foster home

The Park County Sheriff's office is asking for help locating two teenage girls who ran away from a therapeutic foster care home where they were receiving treatment for significant mental health issues.

Emma Stokes and Anna Frankman, both 16, were last seen in the area of Mount Evans Boulevard in Pine Junction around 10 p.m. on July 7, the sheriff's office said.

Juvenile female and 2-year old son missing from Fairhaven foster home

A juvenile female went missing/runaway from a Fairhaven foster home on Saturday, July 6, 2019, with her 2-year-old son. They may be with the child’s paternal grandfather who works in Bourne and has been seen there in the past few days. His last known address was in New Bedford and is believed to have been there recently. He may also be working along the waterfront or fish houses in New Bedford.

1 In 30 Kids In Foster Care In Texas Were Reported Missing Last Fiscal Year, Report Finds

More than 1,800 children and youth in foster care in Texas were reported missing during fiscal year 2018, according to a new report from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. DFPS was responsible for more than 52,000 kids during that period.

Similar numbers were reported in the previous two years.

Hundreds of vulnerable looked-after children going missing from care

Since 2016, Police Scotland and the missing persons register have been alerted about 218 looked-after children in Fife, 93 in Dundee, 70 in Perth and Kinross, and 20 in Angus.

A Courier investigation revealed all 409 youngsters returned home, a statistic described as a “mercy”.

Mother wanted for refusing to turn child over to the Division of Family Services

Delaware State Police are looking for a 4-year-old girl and have issued an arrest warrant for her biological mother.

Troopers said 37-year-old Andrea Brickhouse failed to relinquish custody of her little girl to the Division of Family Services per a court order dated October 16, 2018.

10-year-old Houston boy missing for 8 months after running away from CPS custody

Authorities are searching for a 10-year-old Houston boy who has been missing for nearly eight months after running away from CPS custody.

Ma'Lik Bates was last seen June 21, 2018 in the 6300 block of Rosemary Lane.

For N.Y.’s Foster Children, Running Away Can Lead to Handcuffs

Nevayah still remembers the feel of the handcuffs. They were foreign to her; she had never been in trouble.

A latecomer to New York City’s foster care system, Nevayah had been signed over to the Administration for Children’s Services when she was 16. Rather than enter a group home, she told her caseworker she would prefer to live with her mother in Ohio. Eager to start school, she bought a bus ticket, made it to Cleveland and phoned the agency to let them know that she was safe.

According to data compiled by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, there were 121 foster children statewide listed as AWOL, Absent Without Leave in November.

Kansas DCF disputes FosterAdopt numbers on missing children

The Kansas Department for Children and Families disputes the way an organization represents statistics on the outcome of children who have been removed from their homes, but the organization’s leader said she stands by the interpretation.

The discrepancy arose after FosterAdopt Connect’s Journey Home tour, which gave policymakers and philanthropists the opportunity to understand the trauma youths face when they are removed from their parents. Each participant was given a card that told a true story about a child.

18 MISSING FOSTER CHILDREN FOUND IN MULTI-AGENCY OPERATION

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation reports that a joint operation was conducted last week to recover children missing from the foster care system in Kansas.

More than 100 federal, state, and low law enforcement officers participated in the operation to find the missing children.  The operations were conducted in Sedgwick and Johnson Counties, but spread to Wyandotte and several other counties across the state.

5 siblings missing from northern California foster home found safe 80 miles away

Five siblings who ran away from their foster home in northern California have been found safe. KPIX reported the children, who range in age from 4 to 16 years old, were found at a hotel in El Cerrito, California on Wednesday. Authorities stated the children first went missing from the temporary foster home on Nov. 3 in Stockton 80 miles away. Delaware mom wanted for not turning over custody of girl, 4

Authorities looking for a 4-year-old Delaware girl have issued an arrest warrant for her mother.

WDEL-FM cites a Delaware State Police release that says a family court issued an order granting custody of Aliyah Fassett to the Division of Family Services on Oct. 16. Police say her mother, 37-year-old Andrea Brickhouse, refused to comply with requests to meet with caseworkers and turn over custody.

Five siblings missing after running away from foster home in California

Five brothers and sisters ran away from their foster home in Stockton, Calif., police said on Monday.

They were last seen on Saturday at noon; investigators say they fled the foster home with most of their belongings. The two youngest are 4 years old. The oldest is 16.

Search Continues For 11-Year-Old Girl Who Left San Clemente Foster Home

A search was continuing Monday for an 11-year-old girl who went missing from her foster home in San Clemente, and who detectives believe may be with her mother.

Kaia Fina was last seen Friday and may be traveling with her mother in a black 2007 BMW X3, California license plate 7RRY771, said Carrie Braun of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

11-Year-Old Girl Goes Missing From San Clemente Foster Home

An 11-year-old girl from San Clemente was missing Saturday and authorities said she could be with her mother.

Kaia Fina was last seen in San Clemente at 10:30 p.m. Thursday and was reported missing Friday morning, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

OCPD: 8-Year-Old Boy Returned To DHS Custody, 12-Year-Old Brother Still Missing

One of two missing brothers is back in state custody. The two were under the care of DHS when they disappeared, but a source told News 9 family members were expected to return them both.

Elijah Mohammad, 8, reportedly ran away early Sunday morning. His 12-year-old brother, also named Elijah Mohammad, ran away back in June.  Both had been in foster care as authorities investigated their father, who also has the same name, for alleged child abuse.

Report: Caseworker called 911 after being bound to tree in Tucson

Duct tape, zip ties and a taser were all used on a caseworker found bound to a tree in a park on Tucson's south side on May 4, according to police records.

The reports cover the kidnapping of two young children by their parents during a supervised visit.
