Whistleblower Evidence Claims Corruption at Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services

In connection with a lawsuit for child custody, a former employee of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) asserts in a July 2019 affidavit obtained by The Epoch Times that the agency falsifies evidence to justify taking children from their parents.

In addition, a DCFS caseworker alleges that the department interfered in the case by removing the caseworker’s notes from her report in the custody case, according to text messages and court transcripts obtained by The Epoch Times.

California father, son charged with sexual abuse of multiple foster children for years

Police in Antioch, California have arrested a father and son on charges of sexually abusing multiple children under their care for six years.

Simon Mendoza Chavez, 64, and his son Simon Magana Chavez, 31, provided foster care for children between 2011 and 2017.

Foster father, son accused of sexually abusing children, Contra Costa DA says

A foster parent and his son are accused of sexually abusing multiple children in Antioch, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office said Monday.

The foster father, identified by the district attorney as 64-year-old Simon Chavez, cared for young children for at least 18 years at his home in Antioch.

Great-grandma allegedly banned from funeral of boy who had begged not to be reunited with parents

The great-grandmother of a California boy who suspiciously died under his birth parents's care was banned from attending his funeral on Thursday, KTTV reports.

This week, civil rights activist Najee Ali led a silent protest during a private viewing at the funeral of 4-year-old Noah Cuatro, after the boy's parents banned Eva Hernandez from attending. Hernandez's allegations of child abuse did not purportedly sit well with Noah's parents Jose and Ursula.

Safehouse no longer accepting children from Social Services

Operation Safehouse, a non-profit that helps runaways, homeless youths, and other youths in crisis, is placing a moratorium on accepting placements by the Department of Public and Social Services after an employee was attacked.

SafeHouse Executive Director Kathy McAdara said a child placed at the shelter by DPSS attacked the manager of the Riverside shelter without provocation last Saturday. The resident also destroyed Safehouse property, McAdara added. Law enforcement had to be brought in before the child was finally removed from the shelter.

Report: DCFS failed to remove boy from home, despite court order weeks before death

A 4-year-old California boy who reportedly begged not to live with his parents was allowed to remain in their home despite a court order to remove him. Noah Cuatro died weeks later under suspicious circumstances.


His parents, Jose and Ursula Cuatro, are now under investigation in his death, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Palmdale toddler death: Details emerge about Noah Cuatro's history in foster system

More details are coming out about the suspicious death of a 4-year-old boy in Palmdale.

The initial report said Noah Cuatro died due to injuries at a community pool last week. But officials are investigating after they said they found trauma to Noah's body that was inconsistent with drowning.

Glendale couple sue fertility clinic, saying their embryo was implanted into wrong woman

The Glendale couple thought that their in vitro fertilization treatment had failed. But Anni and Ashot Manukyan were seized with anguish and horror when they learned that, on the other side of the country, a stranger had been implanted with their embryo then given birth to their baby boy.

On Wednesday, the Manukyans filed a lawsuit against Los Angeles’ CHA Fertility Center alleging negligent infliction of emotional distress and medical malpractice, among other infractions. The couple are seeking punitive and compensatory damages.

Mother kidnaps her child at knifepoint from social worker in Paso Robles

A woman whose 1-year-old son had been removed from her custody kidnapped her child at knifepoint during a supervised visit in Paso Robles Wednesday morning, but she was ultimately caught after authorities issued an Amber alert. [Cal Coast Times]

At about 9:15 a.m., Rashawna Bullock, 23, was having a supervised visit with her son, Namaste Dix, at Barney Schwartz Park. A San Luis Obispo County Child Welfare Services (CWS) worker was present.

Woman accused of posing as social worker to kidnap week-old baby in Santa Ana is charged

A woman who police say posed as a social worker to try to take a newborn baby from a Santa Ana home has been charged.

Sara Orozco Magana, 38, of Santa Ana was charged with one felony count each of attempted kidnapping of a child under age 14 and attempted taking of a minor from a parent, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

The father of a woman who jumped to her death from a bridge at the Edelman Children’s Court in Monterey Park in 2018 after losing parental custody of her young sons is suing Los Angeles County, alleging officials were aware that his daughter’s mental health was declining and didn’t get her the proper care.

The Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit was filed Monday by Chien-Tung Wu, the father of the late Shin Wu, whose two minor sons are also named as plaintiffs. The children’s father is acting as their guardian during the court proceedings.

Fear, discontent reportedly widespread at Kern County Department of Human Services

Kern County Department of Human Services employees have reported widespread discontent with working conditions, and some say they fear for their safety after several recent incidents.

As the department’s administration attempts to grapple with several issues brought up by employees, complaints are arising in different areas. A department spokeswoman said the administration was trying to address safety and workload issues raised by employees.

California Woman Wins Huge Settlement In CPS Incident Where Son Was Taken, Given 13 Vaccines

A California woman said her infant son was taken by Child Protective Services, then given a full body medical test and thirteen vaccines without a warrant or parental consent.

This was done based on the recommendation of a doctor who has been sued repeatedly.

Grand jury report finds foster care staff overworked, allegations of abuse

A grand jury report released Wednesday found multiple gaps in institutional safety and training in the Child Welfare Services division of San Diego County’s Health and Human Services Agency.

The grand jury reviewed the workloads of social workers in the CWS division, as well as how CWS workers are trained to provide support and care to foster children and parents. The panel also looked into the effects of the state’s Continuum of Care Reform Act, which required regional foster care systems to increase support for foster families and improve outcomes for foster youth.

Woman booked for attempted kidnapping after allegedly posing as social worker, trying to take baby from home

A 38-year-old woman has been booked on suspicion of attempted kidnapping after she allegedly posed as a social worker and tried to take a baby from his home in Santa Ana, authorities announced Saturday.

According to police, the incident occurred at about 11:30 a.m. Friday at a house in the 2300 block of South Evergreen Street, where the suspect told the infant's mother that she was there to take the 1-week-old child into protective custody.
