In was on Oct. 13 that Yolanda Bryant, 44, started to receive text messages from a family friend’s phone. It was her 10-year-old grandson. After some chit chat, the boy started to open up. He and his 5-year-old sister had been staying with the family friend for five months already. During that time, they hadn’t been to school. “He said, ‘We’re not allowed out the room,’” Bryant said. “He said they get beat with sticks.” Her heart sank.

Supreme Court Sides with Parents in Grandparent Visitation Case

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled against a grandmother who wanted more visitation time with her granddaughter, concluding grandma did not overcome a presumption that favors parental decisions concerning their kids.

Cacie Michaels and Keaton Lyons had a daughter together in 2009. They were never married and split up in 2011. As an infant and toddler, their daughter spent significant time with her grandmother, Jill Kelsey (Lyons’ mother), but the arrangement changed.

Protests Against Family Court in Bath N.Y.

Friday afternoon a group of women held a protest outside of Steuben County Family Court, calling for change. The protest was lead by Corning resident Sherri Ballam.  She's a grandmother who claims the family court system unjustly denied visitation rights for her to see her grandson. Ballam explains that the goal for the protest is to have children's voices heard when they are in the court system.

One Hawaii Woman’s Futile 4-Year Quest To Get Her Grandkids Back

In 2015, Kathleen Buck found a place to rent just behind the Kahala Mall. She considered it perfect for the five grandchildren she desperately wanted to adopt.

Grandmother vows to keep fighting for grandchildren pulled out of four homes

SAN ANTONIO — A local grandmother is fighting to keep her young grandchildren safe, and in her care, after years of alleged abuse.


Maria Dominguez says she is willing to do whatever it takes to get her grandchildren back. "This is the hardest thing for me right now. Seeing their pictures," she says as she flips between photos of her two granddaughters.

I told the CPS worker I wouldn't let her in without a warrant

Someone called CPS on me because they are concerned about my grandson. My grandson does not live with me and never has. He lives 4 hours away in another state with my daughter and her husband. I am not sure who called and for what reason but they wanted to do a check of my house.

I explained that he doesn't even live there. The worker didn't care and said she needed to see for herself. I told her to get a warrant. You would have thought I told her to smoke some meth or something by the look on her face. She said it would be better for me to just let her in.
