Doctors Confirm Media Plays a Key Role in Drug Abuse

Doctors Confirm Media Plays a Key Role in Drug Abuse

Since the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) relaxed the rules on pharmaceutical companies being able to advertise on TV and in media directly to consumers in 1997, we’ve seen a barrage of ads at all hours on TV and in magazines and newspapers to “Ask your Doctor” about taking certain drugs. Doctors are now noting a connection in such marketing to drug abuse among our nation’s most precious resource - our children.

Note: I come across this blog every now and then. And I really think this person has it down on this issue and presents a good article. I, however want to take it from a different angle. So lets not stop with controlling what children see on television, when there are in fact a lot of stupid adults out there who are just as influential, if not more than the children, which explains about 80% of the foster parents that I come across in my work.

Lets even take this media influence issue on children and adults a step further. Here's another article I came across a while back.
U.S. Pediatricians Decry Media's Portrayal of Sex

They urge more responsible programming, and ask doctors and parents to play a more involved role
So the doctors are now seeing connections between inappropriate sexualized behaviors in teens and drug abuse thanks all of the crap that they play on television.

Stop and think for a minute. How does the television actually work on people? How does it influence children?

Have you ever walked into a room where there were somebody was watching TV and tried to get their attention? Ever notice when they're so caught up in what they were watching, that you practically had to block the screen just to get their attention? Then they snap out of a trance, somewhat irritated if not worse?

What do you honestly think is going on in their feeble little minds when that happens? Well I'll tell you. The bullshit is getting pumped into a deeper level of their subconscious. You know what part I mean? The level that effects ones view of reality, the part that helps to develop how one reacts in certain situations. The part that creates ones values, beliefs, what have you. Marketers use this phenomenon of psychological influence in order to get you to buy a product. They show you what they want you to see. The tout the benefits like how fulfilled ones infertile life would be if only they had your child of their own.

Now lets even go one further.

Have you ever watched Nickelodeonor the Disney Channel? Ever notice how it continuously pumps out shows that are high strung, funny-spastic non stop shenanigans with yelling and screaming and off the wall kookieness? How does stuff like that effect little developing brains?

Can you say ADHD? Perhaps the cure for that is shutting off the TV right?

The television is a hypnotic device that entrances the stupid. So when they play stuff like this...

The hearts of the influential and suggestible melt at a deeper psychological level and they look into foster care and adoption like good little puppets. So nobody even realizes that their brains and views of reality are being shaped by the idiot box.

And thus they get away with fraud, waste and corruption because people like you believe everything that you see on TV. Especially when it's presented as happily staged bullshit like Wednesdays child, where they take the kid out for a good time so they'll be all happy and bubbly in front of the camera. The stupid will say, how cute that poor child is.

Meanwhile some parent sits there wondering how their kid is turning out.

Perhaps this person could use them? Just a thought.

Grayson adoption halted for appeal

The lawyer for a southern Indiana couple trying to adopt a 3-year-old boy who they've raised since birth says they've agreed to mediation with the child's biological father from Ohio who's trying to gain custody. Attorney Tom Hectus declined to elaborate after a closed Floyd County court hearing Tuesday involving Christy and Jason Vaughn of Sellersburg and Benjamin Wyrembek of Swanton, Ohio. The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., reports a statement signed by the Vaughns and Wyrembek says they are trying to resolve their dispute in the boy's best interests. The Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday stopped action on Ohio adoption and custody proceedings while it considers an appeal of a ruling in Wyrembek's favor. The Vaughns maintain Wyrembek abandoned the boy's mother, who was married to someone else.

Why men accused of rape should be anonymous unless convicted

Why men accused of rape should be anonymous unless convicted

For many years, by law in the UK and by policy of the news agencies and outlets in the US, rape accusers have been afforded anonymity. Arguably, men accused of rape and similar crimes have even greater need for anonymity, unless and until convicted, than their accusers, but women's groups and progressive politicians typically block such efforts. This post is a brief explanation of the rationale for granting anonymity to men accused of rape.

To all of our beloved advocates

To all of our beloved advocates

Just a reminder and a lesson.

The sharing of information is essential in regards to the spreading of awareness. However, it is important to always cite your sources of information. Doing so adds credibility to your work. Not doing so is plagiarism. Plagiarism is a form of theft, and if you get caught, can truly damage your credibility.

This is why, for example, I have chosen the format for Legally Kidnapped that I have. I always cite my sources, in fact, in order to read almost any article that I publish here, you are required to go to the original source if you choose to read the article. If I do not cite the source, it is because of the authors wish to remain anonymous. This request will always be respected on Legally Kidnapped. And I don't care who sends it. I will notify you when this happens, I will not, however, claim the work of another as my own if I didn't write it myself. What I do here, is considered "Fair Use" because I simply provide you with links to the works of others, and do not claim the works as my own unless I wrote myself. After all, who am I and why should you take my word for it?

If you use excerpts from another authors work in a piece of your own writing, you should cite the source. To do so is considered scholarly. Not to do so is again, plagiarism. By citing the original source of a piece of work that you reference, it shows that you did your research and that your work should be taken seriously. It shows that you are a credible person who would not steal the work of another and promote it as your own. It is also totally acceptable to reference the work of another author, provided you give credit where credit is due.

I am writing this because, I did, last night, come across a piece of work that is being shared without the authors information. In this case, and I'm not going to name any names as I assume it was an oversight because I would not consider the person who sent it to me one as being known for plagiarism, nor did the person who sent it to me claim it as their own work, as it is a case of one person sharing the work, and others sending it out to others further and further, I did however take the steps to correct this oversite.

This piece of work which was shared, was not only shared without the authors info, but was also posted to another blog by a blogger who deserves kudos and big virtual hugs for correcting this immediately upon being notified. In this case, the work was mistakenly attributed to another person who is also considered a respectable member in the world of family rights, but did not claim the work as their own. This person simply shared this brilliant piece of work via an email newsletter after being passed onto him or her by another. That could damage the credibility of the person who sent the email because the work was attributed to him or her by mistake, regardless of the fact that this person in no way, shape or form tried to claim the work as their own.

When a piece of work is sent out via email without the authors information, then sent out again by others, etc, (when it goes viral etc) the author who happens to be a very hard worker for all of you gets no credit and no benefit from his or her own hard work, and depending on certain factors, some authors would even sue you in an attempt to get something out of their work and damage your credibility.

Authors generally love to have their work shared, referenced and cited. To do so is a compliment to the author, even when you are arguing the accuracy of what the author has said. But always add in that information. Always add in a link to the source, the name of the book, whatever it is. If someone out there is to take your work seriously, or tries to challenge what you say, they should know where to look to see things in the proper context.

Otherwise you will damage your own credibility. This can not be tolerated if you want to be taken seriously. And perhaps this very important rule should be added into the discussion to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

I don't make the rules people. This is just the way the world works.

Note: This particular article makes a revelation: and that's two new markets that Florida is opening up. How much do you all want to bet that Florida kicks the crap out of this years big winner, Texas in next years Adoption Bonus race like they did last year? Don't forget that disabled children are worth bigger money.
States receive $4,000 for every child adopted beyond their best year's total. They also get a payment of $8,000 for every child age 9 and older and $4,000 for every special needs child adopted above the respective baselines. The year 2007 is the baseline.

How much do you want to bet? Seriously... Is there a way we can legally set up a family rights lottery on this? Because I'm more than willing to take your money next year if you think Texas has a snowball in hell's chance with Florida on the cutting edge of emerging markets of potential adopters like this. Watch, next thing they'll do is cut the red tape on interstate adoptions or something, to make that easier.

Texas Child "Protective" Services Proposal to stop the false reports that destroy families Dallas, Texas

Texas Child "Protective" Services Proposal to stop the false reports that destroy families Dallas, Texas

I have now had 2 false reports called in on me and the mother of my children. The second and current one only found its way because the reporter was a coworker at the time the first case was causing the chaos in my life and he was stuck in a car 5+ hours a day so knew most of the details of the first case and how my girl's ex-was able to manipulate the system to get out of child support and other reasons, but to trick the system by using its weaknesses. So 3 years later this second reporter and I have a falling out and being an immature 10 years younger decided to use the same blueprint to cause the same level of chaos he wittnessed us go thru the first time. Ok, I understand the need for protection of the people that report the cases because the system is counter productive if people are not allowed to act when they seriously think they are trying to help the child out of a bad situation. The problem is that there is no system designed to stop people from doing in strickly out of malice. I propose the following. No annonymous reports allowed.

Lets do a little deductive reasoning here.
Nelson nominates 'Angels in Adoption'
If these people are Angels then parents who are involved with child welfare must be devils. Even though you're the ones who are so graciously providing the products for their endeavors and profit.
2 Lincoln couples honored with Angels in Adoption award
And since parents involved with child welfare are devils and the people who buy and sell your children are angels, then it only stands to reason that there is a battle going on between good and evil. And if there is a battle going on between good and evil then I say that the devil, otherwise known as the great deceiver, is actually those being promoted and glorified by the great beast known as the Child Protective Industry.

PAIN-BRENDAN FLEMING LANDMARK FAMILY COURT CASE WIN

On the 27th September 2010 Judge Bellamy sitting as a High Court Judge in Coventry in one of our care cases where we repesented the mother of three young children made an order allowing the press to name the local authority as Coventry City Council. They criticised their actions in this case and ordered them to pay £100,000 to the Legal Services Commission.

It has been reported in the media yesterday that the head of social services of Coventry namely Colin Green has formally apologised to the parents and their family for their mistakes in this case.

Brendan Fleming principal of Brendan Fleming Solicitors has today spoken to his client and her husband and this firm wish to make it categorically clear and to set the record straight that no such apology has been either offered or given verbally in writing to this familiy or given to this firm Brendan Fleming's. Such misrepresentations by the Coventry City Council add only insult to injury for these parents.

The local authority are also minimising their mistakes in this case particularly with regards to this expert's report by stating that others should have looked at the report and that they are also alleging the parents agreed to the instructions of this expert in these proceedings.

This again is another untruth. Mr. Brendan Fleming personally appeared before the courts on behalf of the mother and on numerous occasions and objected to the report as being too expensive, unnecessary and a complete waste of time. Mr. Fleming and the parents alos objected to the letter of instruction to this expert and the expert himself.

The parents are furious with this local authority and have instructed Brendan Fleming Solicitors to bring proceedings against Coventry City Council to recover the parents' expenses, loss of earnings and the cost of the holiday which they had booked for themselves and their children which they were forced to cancel by the local authority.

"An immediate written apology to this family", said Mr Brendan Fleming today "sent directly to them or to via my offices at 165 Newhall Street, Birmingham would be a first step for this authority to recognise and to have insight into the nightmare that they have put these parents and their children through."

This local authority stands accused by these parents of minimising the damage they have caused to this family and their children and have demonstrated a complete lack of insight into how this case has affected their lives.

This statement has been issued with the approval of the parents and Brendan Fleming Solicitors contactable at 165 Newhall Street, Birmingham. Direct line to Mr. Brendan Fleming is 07817001310

A bill to amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment and Adoption Reform Act of 1978, and the Abandoned Infants Assistance Act of 1988 to reauthorize the Acts, and for other purposes.

And here's a picture for your dartboard.

One bad apple... Or National Stolen Child Day... Whichever you prefer.

The Problem:

It appears that the Baby P effect has hit Indiana.

This is a problem that we the parents of the world face which is a simple case of the one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch. Example: One parent kills a kid, therefore more children must be taken into foster care.

Whenever a child dies from abuse or neglect and the media gets hold of the story, exploits it on television or in the newspapers, the lemmings get panicky and call the hotline about any little thing. The workers get panicky and steal more kids. The government pumps more money into the system, and the parents and children get screwed, etc.

Calls to Indiana’s child-abuse hotline on increase after deaths of 2 children

And here's one even better. Even when the agencies prove that they are incompetent or are trying to cover up their failures, the calls increase to the hotline. (this article btw was published right after revelations of cover-ups into the deaths of children under cps watch or in the care of the child protective industry was brought to the attention of the public, not before. Check the dates.)

Strangely the new wave of awareness was caused by the shedding of light on the corruption within the system.

Now read this. Then come back and read the rest of this post.

So as you can see, as a parent, you have a lot more to worry about than CPS coming to your door. You have to worry about your neighbors, teachers, doctors, daycare providers, and even the Walmart Photo Department! Therefore a corrupt and fraudulent Social Services department is really the least of your worries. You gotta watch your back at every turn.

Yes they are out to get you, and no this is not me being paranoid. Yes they do want your children and no it is not to protect them from abuse or neglect, as I prove to you daily here on Legally Kidnapped. Yes they are a bunch of lying and worthless fuck-ups and no they are not going to help your family when your kids are worth money.

The Solution:

Now, if you want to do something about it, it's time we overwhelm the system. Start using some of their tactics against them. Remember, all is fair in love and war. And when it comes to our children both apply.

This is a call to action. Don't bother with the government, they're only going to cater to the loudest bunch of crybabies, IE the sheep who are misled by all of the child abuse propaganda that they see on TV. You'd be better off reporting a few of your states government officials to the hotline so that they can get a taste of their own legislation. Oh it is true that making a false report is wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right, however it's no different than a vindictive neighbor calling on you or a teacher who misinterprets the words of your kid and making a false report, nor is it any different than when my Family Doctor reported me to the child abuse hotline for rescheduling a doctors appointment in a time of a family emergency. These assholes are the ones signing off on the legislation that makes all of these agencies and procedures possible.

It's called civil disobedience and we need to engage.

Start protesting foster parent informational meetings and heart galleries where they try to warehouse and sell your children. Oh the news media celebrates that shit like you wouldn't believe. I sift through tons of it to get to the good stuff every fucking day, yet I don't ever see a single one of you out there holding up a sign saying "They Stole My Child!"

Oh the wonderful people who just want to help the poor abused and neglected children. Oh, it takes a special kind of person to be a foster parent. My ass. They're a bunch of pedophiles, child lovers, infertile's with an entitlement complex, and self-righteous hypocrites who come riding in on their high horse with shit that don't stink.

So what are you going to do? Are you going to stand around taking it like a bitch? Or are you going to make November 20th National Stolen Child Day?

Why November 20th? CLICK HERE AND SEE.

National Stolen Child Day will be a symbolic representation and a statement that we're simply not going to take it any more! Never discount the power of symbolism. The Child Protective Industry uses it all the time.

What you do is go to the Dollar Store, and buy a little doll. Write the name of your stolen child on the forehead and the name of the worker who your child was stolen by and whoever else fucked with your family, then set it on the front steps of your local Child Protective Industry office, your favorite adoption agency, your favorite family court house, whatever. Don't say a word, don't mess with anybody, just place the doll on the steps and leave.

I call on all of you to spread the word and make this day a reality.

National Stolen Child Day: November 20th 2010. It's time to start pissing on their parade, just like they are pissing all over you.

Why are there bullies in social work?

An experienced social worker recently asked me a question I struggled to answer. "Why" he asked, "do people who bully come into social work, when our entire purpose is to assist and empower people, not humiliate and denigrate them?"

Note: Child protective workers are really cowards hiding behind their caseworker license. In my own personal experience, they back down rather quickly when you stand up to them.

A Comment...

There was a very interesting comment left on this post, regarding a father who is seeking a public inquiry into the death of his son in foster care. I am reposting it here so that nobody misses it.

There should be no need for any parent of a child who has died under directorship of its Ministry to lobby for an Inquiry. The Province's own legislation dictates that it is legally necessary! Why do survivors have to teach the law to Authorities??

For example, Alberta Justice indicates:

"The Medical Examiner's Office investigates all unexplained natural deaths and all unnatural deaths in Alberta under authority of the Fatality Inquiries Act. These deaths represent about 30 per cent of all deaths in the province. Investigations determine the identity of the deceased and the cause, manner and circumstances of death. Findings are used to settle estates in civil and criminal proceedings. All deaths in Alberta which involve cremation, dissection under the Universities Act or shipment out of province require a certificate by the office prior to final disposition of the body. The office is also involved in organ and tissue donation, research, statistics and forensic education. The chief medical examiner, a forensic pathologist, is the head of the program. Fatality inquiries (inquests) are recommended by the Fatality Review Board following a review of case files provided by the office. These inquiries are held in public before a provincial court judge. Facilities exist in Edmonton and Calgary with morgue, investigative, medical records and laboratory units. Outside Edmonton and Calgary, investigations are performed through a partnership between fee-for-service medical examiners (typically family physicians) and police officers acting as medical investigators using local hospital morgue and pathology resources. Where no local facilities exist or are accessible, bodies are examined in either the Edmonton or Calgary offices."

His experiences moving between schools throughout his teenage years demonstrate the kind of emotional whiplash foster kids endure.

Mother kidnaps child from state custody

An Albuquerque mother is locked up for custodial interference after police were called to a supervised visit at a Children Youth and Families office. On Tuesday, a police report says Laura Cristy punched and pushed CYFD employees as she tried to escape from the supervised visit while holding one of her four children. A CYFD spokesperson could not say why the children were in the department’s custody for confidentiality reasons. When police arrived, officers had to pry Cristy’s one-year-old son from her arms after she was found in the office parking lot. “The most troubling thing aspect of this incident is that the children witnessed it,” said spokesperson Romaine Serna. “I understand that she is facing charges around custodial interference. Our hope is that she will also face assault charges,” Serna added. Eyewitness News 4 found Cristy has a criminal history of domestic violence. According to Metro Court records, she’s been convicted three times of domestic violence and also has a pending fraud and racketeering case. Cristy’s mother declined to comment on camera, but told Eyewitness News 4 over the phone her daughter suffers with mental issues.
