Social workers across Georgia can sometimes face hostile, threatening and dangerous incidents and behavior when working in the field.

On Monday, the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services went live with a phased rollout of a new security system by distributing to child-welfare investigators and case managers “panic buttons” that connect to the Click Safe mobile phone application.

Social worker could be struck off after faking evidence in child case

A social worker has appeared before a professional disciplinary panel after she was found by a judge to have fabricated evidence to bolster the case for removing a child from the mother’s care and then lied in court about having done so.

Linda Fraser, who works for Bristol city council, could be struck off if the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) concludes that her fitness to practise has been impaired by her conduct.

Tiffany Herring, 23, who identified herself as the daughter of one of the victims, told the Burlington Free Press her mother received a threatening phone call from Jody Herring on Friday morning. 

She said: "You guys need to stop calling DCF unless you guys are going to have it coming to you," Tiffany Herring told the newspaper.
