My Children were wrongly taken by DCFS because two gang members came to a house I was renting a room from (not even unpacked) we didn't know anybody. They had a beef with a 21 year old kid who was sleeping so they took an innocent man and shot him while his son was getting ready for school. My children and I were sleeping in the back room. DCFS felt like they had to do an "emergency removal" on my children. I did a on demand drug test for DCFS and tested clean for all drugs and alcohol (have proof) no drugs, weapons, alcohol were found in the house. We were ruled out as victims despite all this my clean test the day after my children were removed never showed up in court and the court felt I should do the most hoops to get my children back. 18 months later I am still fighting. I have a daughter who is 10 and a daughter who is 8, my 8 year old had an emotional meltdown because she has never been away from me, DCFS found it appropriate to put her in a mental institution and put her on Respidal as now she is considered a broken child and that means more money. I am standing up and will not stop until my children come home and want to be an advocate for other children and families. I never want anybody to go through what hell I have been through, although, I do know it is happening across the nation, just different names, faces and states. I will not back down this is my calling.
