Pamper Yourself For Child Abuse Day!

I just came across a rather interesting press release, where some wonderful people are going to donate their time and skills to a worthy cause and according to the headline, they need your help.
Hair Salon Needs Your Help Fighting Child Abuse
And I totally applaud part of their efforts, as here we have a small business who simply wants to give back to the community in which they live and work, as you can see in the subheading.
Shapers Salon and Day Spa Will Donate Friday’s Proceeds
And if more people learned from their example the world would be a better place. Right?

Here lies the problem. Check out the first paragraph of this short article.
Thousands of children are beaten and abused in Mid-Michigan.
Unbelievable. I imagine this was written by someone who got sucked into Wednesdays Child or some other in depth report. Check out the second paragraph.
You may feel a bit helpless, but there is something you can do.
And although I agree that there is something that we all can do, like help the family or something, and I've come across tons of articles with all kinds of suggestions of what to do and how to handle it, but I gotta admit, this is a new one on me.

See folks, what this really is, is a situation of somebody who fell for all the child abuse propaganda and trying to regurgitate it into a marketing strategy, as you can see from the rest of the article.
This Friday -- Shapers Salon and Day Spa, 685 N Center Rd, Saginaw -- will donate all proceeds to the Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Saginaw County.

Money from any haircut, pedicure or massage goes to the CAN Council to help fight child abuse locally.

Contact Shapers Salon and Day Spa for an appointment at 989-793-3771.
Here we have the perfect opportunity for the System Sucks to be able to pamper themselves and give to the child protective industry at the same time!

Brilliant!

Advertising and for a cause like child abuse prevention, which the author of this press release obviously learned about from watching too much TV, but it's still good, not to mention they can use it all as a tax write off at the end of the year.

But what a marketing strategy. Think about it, they're liable to get a few new customers out of the deal. They got a free ad in a newspaper, hell they even made Legally Kidnapped! People who go somewhere and have a good experience tend to go back. All they have to do is give everybody who walks in that door a good experience then they're golden. And we all know what a socio-emotional hotspot the thought of child abuse is these days. If they can create perception that they are good people who care about CHILDREN, that's got to suck a few new paying bodies in.

So here's what I propose. I say we make this a national event, where all the spas and hair salon's and barber shops and massage parlors etc get together and donate all of their proceeds to the Child Protective Industry. We'll call it...

Pamper yourself for child abuse day.

And then the System Sucks have a brand new way of giving and getting and "caring about the children" at the same time.

Mother cannot fight adoption order – judge

A MOTHER from Bristol was told she "could not have done more" as she failed in a last-ditch attempt to get her five children back from their adoptive families.

Note: You know what, I'm sorry, but Judge Lord Justice Wilson is obviously a system suck rubber stamp judge who should be thrown off the bench and given to a homosexual football team to be used as a ball. If that mother has done everything she was supposed to, then she should get her kids back.

It's a simple concept really.

The British Child Protective Industry couldn't properly pour piss out of a boot, even if it had the directions written all over the heals, and Judge Lord Justice Wilson blindly supports their babystealing efforts anyway.
But, acknowledging she loves her children and had done her best to care for them, the judge told the mother she could be satisfied she had fought as hard as she could in her efforts to win them back. He said: "Irrespective of the outcome, she will always be able to tell herself that she could not have done more to secure the restoration of her children to her."
What an asshole. I'm sorry. I'm sure that makes this mother feel better. If anything proves that the UK employs the most sadistic child protective industry in the world and that they got the judges in their pockets, it's that line right there.

And why do they dress their judges up like Sexy Santa's over there anyway? Could somebody please enlighten me on this?

Press Release
Ontario Ombudsman now has the power to investigate Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society
TORONTO (October 15, 2010) – Ontario Ombudsman André Marin now has the jurisdiction to investigate complaints about Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society, following the provincial government’s appointment of a supervisor for the agency.

Children and Youth Services Minister Laurel Broten announced this week that she has appointed Mr. Vince Tedesco to manage the society on an interim basis in place of its board of directors. While normally the Ombudsman does not have jurisdiction over children’s aid societies in Ontario, that changes when the provincial government takes direct control, since the Ombudsman does have jurisdiction over the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.

Ontario is the only province in Canada whose Ombudsman does not have a mandate to oversee child protection services. Despite this, the Ombudsman’s office receives many serious complaints about these agencies every year that cannot be investigated. A total of 296 complaints about children’s aid societies were received in fiscal 2009-2010.

Complaints about the Huron-Perth Children’s Aid Society or any provincial government service or agency may be made to the Ombudsman’s Office at 1-800-263-1830, or via the online complaint form available at www.ombudsman.on.ca/en/make-a-complaint/complaint-form.aspx

Finding Common Ground on the Education of Children in Foster Care

As children around Baltimore settle into the routine of the school year, the distinct minority who enter foster care will struggle to find stability. Often, as temporary placements shift and these youngsters are jostled from placement to placement, the instability that permeates their life also seeps into their school experience.

But a novel collaboration between the Baltimore City Department of Social Services (BCDSS) and Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) holds the promise of offering something to Baltimore foster children that is in wide variance across this country: the chance at educational stability.

Child neglect most common form of abuse: study

Child neglect most common form of abuse: study

Neglect is the most common form of child mistreatment in Canada and the physical damage can be even more devastating than sexual abuse, a study has found.

The government-funded study, released Monday at a youth-protection conference, found that neglect made up 34% of all youth-protection investigations that are found to have merit.

Neglected children were more likely to require medical treatment than children who had suffered physical, sexual or emotional abuse, says the study sponsored by the Public Health Agency of Canada.

Peter M. Dudding, executive director of the Ottawa-based Child Welfare League of Canada, told QMI Agency that years of neglect can hurt a child worse than a single punch, slap or even sexual encounter.

Note: But according to the same people a kid is so traumatized by that one spanking he got when he was two, that everything they do to these kids is justified.

Mother claims she fled with son to Canada because of 'abuse fears'

The woman fled with the seven year-old boy on the day before social services were due to recommend that he be taken into care.

She returned three months later and told police she had no option but to carry out the “crime” if she was to protect her only child.

Note: Attn: Great Brittan! Have you ever considered an Underground Railroad? I mean with all of these parents having to flee the UK just to protect their children from these overzealous social wreckers, most of whom admit to not having the abilities to get the proper information prior to action and instead under heavy pressure from both the public backlash over the Baby P Screw Up and the drive to fulfill adoption quota's will chase a newborn halfway across the world just to get their hands on them.

Well... Duh!

Majority of social workers suffer from mental instability due to their job

Note: Well... Duh! Haven't I been saying this for years? But nobody listens to me. Instead they go and do a survey of babystealers just to figure out what I've been saying all along! They stole my idea! Babystealing is not a normal human activity. In fact, there's nothing normal about it.

More than two-thirds of social workers experience mental or emotional instability as a result of their job, according to a British Association of Social Workers (BASW) poll.

Note: See! They're all screwed up in the heads! In which case the UK needs to take all of their kids away. Especially since these are the kinds of excuses that the British Babystealers use on real parents.

It's only fair right?

BTW, I gotta say thanks to my buddy Mark for finding this, and you should check out his blog because it's really good.

Foster Care Candidate Revenue Maximization Schemes Line County Coffers

Foster Care Candidate Revenue Maximization Schemes Line County Coffers

Some years ago, in a published article, I explained that: “Significantly, a child who has been identified as a potential ‘candidate’ for placement into foster care may trigger reimbursements to the agency for these administrative costs regardless of whether or not the child had actually entered foster care, and these reimbursements to the agency may continue so long as the child remains a potential candidate for entry. Once the determination is made that a child is no longer a ‘candidate’ for entry into care these reimbursements stop. Hence, there exists a clear financial incentive to agencies to maintain a case as open.”

Guardians say their desire to raise boy overlooked by state

When Lani and Sama Ete became 9-year-old Saul’s guardians, they expected there might be a few rough patches as they settled in as a family.

What they didn’t expect is that when Saul became a teenager and got into trouble, they would be shut out of the boy’s life by the state. Now, the Etes are battling the Division of Child and Family Services (DCFS) in court over its decision to not return Saul to their care and say they were unaware that they had limited rights as guardians.

New program to deliver bags, luggage to foster kids in need

A new statewide project is calling attention to an aspect of moving children into foster care that's often overlooked. “Carry-On” will collect new and gently-used bags and suitcases for children in foster care across the state.
Awww. How nice.
“There are around 4,000 children in foster care, and for so many of them to carry their belongings in garbage is just not right—it’s not okay, and we shouldn’t accept it,” Robey said. “And so we’re trying to eliminate garbage bags as an acceptable form of luggage for children in foster care.”
Perhaps they should eliminate the bouncing of children from home to home to home. Perhaps if they weren't stealing so many kids, it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

Azusa woman's attempt to adopt shows difficulties of navigating a complex, nuanced system

An Azusa woman denied the adoption of her newborn nephew believes she was wrongly judged by social workers with the county Department of Children and Family Services.

Note: And she probably was wrongfully judged too, because most of these social workers are not all that bright but are very judgmental.

It's kind of works like this. The real smart ones become psychiatrist, if you're not smart enough for that, you can become a psychologist, if your not smart enough for that, you can become a social worker. If you're not smart enough for that, you can become a licensed caseworker, but if you're not smart enough for that, you can still become a licensed caseworker.
