Foster care often takes kids miles away from home
Mary Haynes has to drive three hours to meet the 12-year-old boy she’s appointed to oversee.
It’s too far to travel there and back in one day, so she spends the night.
Note: So what's wrong with that? The more time she spends driving, the less time she spends ripping families apart.
What's wrong is that the 12 year old is probably not getting visits with his relatives because he's so far away or having to take the day off from school to see them. But of course CPS never bothers to try and fix that.
