New hires and policies help DCF, but staffing problems remain
Massachusetts' Department of Children and Families has gained 170 new full-time employees since July. It has put in place new policies requiring background checks for every household member where a supervised child is living and reviewing 911 calls from homes where there is a report of abuse or neglect.
