Foolish savings in Wayne County juvenile justice services
Budgets and leadership are about establishing priorities.
Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano is setting the wrong ones in proposing a 34% cut in effective, nationally recognized juvenile justice services. They have reduced crime, changed lives and saved millions of dollars by diverting young offenders from costly residential programs and incarceration.
