BONNIE on February 17, 2010 at 12:12 pm permalink I AM NOT DISABLED, HOWEVER HAD BROKEN MY LEG IN A SKYDIVING ACCIDENT. WENT TO FLY OUT OF OIA (ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) AND THE TSA PEOPLE THERE MADE ME REMOVE MY WALKING BOOT AND HOP THRU THE SECURITY DETECTION DEVICE AS I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO GO THRU IN THEIR WHEELCHAIR, HOWEVER WHEN I FLEW BACK OUT OF DFW THEY DID NOT TREAT ME LIKE THAT AND TOTALLY ACCOMMODATED THEIR WHEELCHAIR AND MY BOOT WITHOUT MAKING ME TAKE IT OFF.
I THINK WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS CHILD AND HIS FAMILY IS RIDICULOUS. I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THE NEED FOR STRINGENT SECURITY MEASURES BUT TO DO THIS TO A DISABLED CHILD IS OVERZEALOUS AND IGNORANT OF THE TSA OFFICERS.
