No evidence of fudging child welfare numbers, say experts

Experts say there’s no evidence that Michigan child welfare workers manipulated statistics to keep a state agency in compliance with a legal agreement on caseloads.

Court-appointed monitors investigated after the Lansing State Journal last year quoted employees as saying numbers had been altered at the Department of Health and Human Services.
