Bihar orphanage suspects foul play behind Sherin's death

Patna, Oct 27 (PTI) The orphanage in Nalanda district of Bihar, from where Sherin Mathews was adopted in June last year, today suspected foul play behind the death of the three-year-old Indian girl recently.

Babita Kumari, the secretary of the Mother Teresa Orphanage and Children's Home, claimed that there were discrepancies in the reported statements of Wesley Mathews, Sherin's adoptive father, and said she was suspicious that the child might actually have been killed.

PATNA: An inquiry into the adoption process by which three-year-old Sherin was handed over to US Indian couple Wesley and Sini Mathews has found that everything was in order, with all rules followed under the aegis of the Central Adoption Resource Agency (CARA).






External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday sought a thorough probe into adoption process of the three-year-old Indian American girl Sherin Mathews who has died in Texas,

Sushma Swaraj tweeted that she has requested Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi "for a thorough investigation into the adoption process of Baby Saraswati SherinMathews who has been killed by her foster father Wesley Mathews in the US".
