Our foster care system is broken and must be fixed. With nearly 50 percent of Kansas children in foster care, proper oversight is not optional. As a student pursuing my master’s in social work and a former child care provider of 15 years, the recent cases of abuse and neglect within the foster care system in Kansas are of extreme concern.
