A local mother claims her child was sexually assaulted while in a Department of Children, Youth and Families residential treatment facility, but she said the case never made it to court because her son was too traumatized to testify, Target 12 has learned.
This doesn't surprise me. My son was sexually assaulted at the Woonsocket Boys Shelter. When he was transferred to another facility, they transferred his offender to the same facility!!! Now the offender works for a dcyf funded program and uses the programs Facebook page to try and contact my son. I told my son to file charges or at least a complaint, but he's afraid of his identity being released in the press. There needs to be a major overhaul of the entire system. These kids have suffered more in state custody than if they were left at home.
ReplyDelete"In The Best Interest Of The Child" IS THAT WHAT IT REALLY WAS?
ReplyDeletePlease DCYF tell us how you are going to help this family and others dealing with sexual abuse in your care???? There is NO $$$ amount that could take back the pain inflicted.
