Reichert, who chairs a congressional budget subcommittee overseeing foster care, pointedly asked Inslee why the state was seeking to escape from a court-ordered improvement plan when that work was unfinished. Reichert asked: Why was the state instead proposing oversight that had social workers see less of their foster kids, and carry higher caseloads?
