False allegations of abuse may be made by either parent. They are more common coming from the custodial parent, trying any method they can to prevent the children’s other parent from having any contact or visitation with them. This is despicable. It is also particularly effective because of the difficulty of proving innocence of a crime that didn’t happen. This is most effective because the accuser will claim this happened weeks or months earlier because there is no evidence.
