The ordeal of orphan children in the state is never ending. About eight children ran away from an orphanage in Malappuram as they were not provided the promised facilities and were made to work like slaves in the orphanage. The locals informed the police and the children in the age-group of 8 to 13 are now in the custody of Child Welfare Committee (CWC) at Malappuram.
