Neal Roth: Reform DCF at every level
If investigators from the state Department of Children & Families had reacted more effectively to signs of parental child abuse, 10-year-old Nubia Barahona might still be alive today. Instead, her body was found in February 2011 inside a plastic garbage bag on her adoptive father's pickup truck. School authorities had contacted DCF repeatedly about signs of abuse and neglect, only to have their concerns dismissed after being told Nubia was suffering from "medical problems."
I'm part of a foster family. I thank you for helping expose the evils in foster care that need to be weeded out, however it seems that your saying that all foster care is bad and child theft. Please hear me out in saying that all the kids we have taken in had drug addicted, jailed parents, we're severely neglected, or abandandond. And they found love in our home. By the way more than half of the foster kids in the nation go home. yes there's bad foster parents and that needs to be Changed. But there are also many good ones that geninuly want what's best for the kids.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually pick on the good ones.
