Supreme Court conflicted about what law dictates for Baby Veronica

Supreme Court justices appeared deeply conflicted Tuesday as they considered the fate of Baby Veronica, whose adoptive parents were ordered to return her to the Native American father who once gave up rights to his biological daughter but now has embraced parenthood.

Note: To me, this is one of those cases where the mother, a hooch who decided to have a baby with a man she did not want a relationship with, put the kid up for adoption right out from under him.  The fact that he "gave up his parental rights in a text message" should not even apply because he had not been informed of his rights as a parent.  He was probably troubled and confused and thought that the mother wanted him as a sperm donor and a paycheck.

If the adoptive parents win this, it will be a sad sad day for family rights.

Oh yeah, and the Chief Justice is a System Suck who has adopted children.
