How New York City is Making Foster Care Safer

How New York City is Making Foster Care Safer

According to New York State’s Office of Children and Family Services, over 25,000 children are currently living in foster care. While this number may seem staggering, it is through the hard work of thousands of people who are dedicated to helping children that so many of them in the foster care system are provided with safe and supportive homes. To continue this cycle of support, New York has dedicated a large portion of their community services to help make foster care even safer for the children who depend upon the adults in every part of the foster care system.

Note: Logically speaking, if New York's foster care system needs to be made safer, one could reasonably conclude that New York's foster care system was not entirely safe to begin with.
