Sen. Al Franken expected to amend No Child Left Behind to benefit foster care kids

Sen. Al Franken, a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, is expected to introduce an amendment to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) - aka No Child Left Behind - this Thursday, October 19. The amendment will focus on improving the educational achievements of children in foster care. If that amendment is adopted, it will be the first legislative focus on the K-12 foster care students.
