Video: Children's Aid and privacy

Barbara MacKinnon, executive director of the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa-Carleton, talks about the letter she wrote to the editor about privacy and the media when dealing with family cases.

Note: I personally think that this is an excellent example of spin doctoring. Make it look like you're looking out for the best interest of the family by keeping them out of the media spotlight. However, we all know that the practice of secrecy in child welfare does more to help them to cover their tracks than anything else.

Everything is all one sided with these people. While I agree that families should be protected from media scrutiny, there are ways to tell stories without naming every name.
