Special needs girl left with mother's corpse was let down by failing system: Watchdog

An investigation by B.C.’s child-welfare watchdog says a teen girl with Down syndrome, who was left alone with her mother’s decomposing body, was neglected by the system for about three years before her mother’s September 2010 death in a mobile-home park at Cultus Lake.
