Miami-Dade Street to Be Named 'Nubia Way'
The 10-year-old girl who police say was beaten to death by her adoptive father will be memorialized with a Miami-Dade street named in her honor. The Miami-Dade County Commission on Tuesday the resolution to name a part of Southwest 47th Terrace in honor of Nubia Barahona, whose body was found in the back of father Jorge Barahona's truck on Feb. 14. "Nubia Way" will run from Southwest 107th Ave. to Southwest 117th Ave., and it will include signs with a description of her story as well as a child abuse hotline number
Hopefully they won't fail to mention that she was adopted by foster parents but I be it will just say she was killed by her father so future generations will not know the truth.
