A Foster Care Success Story

Queens foster child earns Eagle Scout badge for raising $15K for foster kids

Among the skills that some Boy Scouts master is the ability to tie knots of all kinds. But for a Queens scout who is receiving the group's highest merit badge, his skills had more to do with tying families together.

Note: A special foster care success story from the Public Relations department of the New York Child Protective Industry.

I think it's great that this kid wants to help others. I think it's great that this kid has made something of himself regardless of his situation. It's just sad that this kind of a success story is so rare.

You all know how the child protective industry likes to paint a picture of the kind and caring system where children are given every opportunity in the world to thrive. Sadly, stories like this are used to convince the sheep that everything is peachy keen. Even more sad is the fact that most people in the United States are dumb enough to believe it.
