We recommend to focus on your own communities first at this time. This is a peaceful gathering. Please read the following to understand why the music has been canceled. Back in August, 2008 I was invited to speak in DC by the organizers of United Civil Rights Council of America and for unknown circumstances and somehow was not being given the opportunity to speak as promised; I decided to take it as a loss even though we had just traveled 1,500 miles. About three months later in 2008 the event holder and organization asked me to bring in music to liven things up for 2009. During our campaign to reach out for Music Artists to support the cause for free, we also ran into several orgs that knew nothing of Family Preservation Events in DC. Not only had we lined up Musicians but managed 50% of new speakers and 50% orgs from their 2008 Event. All of a sudden the 2008 event holder drops all communications with me/us/our direct team, one month prior to the event. While documenting the process we found out that no one had applied for permits by Capitol Police; Block Hotel Rooms and Merchandising Rooms were NOT booked by The Hyatt Hotel on New Jersey Ave as promised and there was no funding. This forced me to gain permits due to the large amount of others attending and expensive equipment on grounds; It is the law. I had to sell my motorcycle to come up with the funding. We decided that TK and JP Music Fest ( Now the primary event, permit and financial holder for 3 years ) needed to expand it's name to the addition of We The People Fest in 2009 and then We The People Family Preservation Fest in 2010. These two names are owned by myself under copy right through building, e commerce and financial transactions for literary works under www.officialdcrallyfest.com © through the U.S. Copy Right office and Library Of Congress. We have paid for and achieved great results through artwork, film work, payments, websites, stage, marketing, advertising, THE PRESS and others.
