Maine GOP Lawmakers Push to Loosen State's Child Labor Laws

Some Republican lawmakers in Augusta are intensifying their push to loosen laws covering minors in the workplace. A new measure, introduced this week, would let kids 16 and older work as many hours a day as they want while school is in session. It would also require employers to pay kids a trial wage during their first six months on the job--a wage that's $2 less than the federal minimum.
