Kentucky pays $300 a month to house foster kids with registered sex offenders

Kentucky’s Cabinet for Health and Family Services (CHFS) has a social work subdivision called the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS). Among the varied activities of this bureaucratic agency is the placing of neglected or mistreated children in foster homes. The foster parents are paid around $300 per month to provide a safe and wholesome home for the kids, until the courts and the state social workers can work out permanent placements.
