Backpacks, bags collected for Connecticut foster children

For the thousands of kids in Foster Care in Connecticut, stability is a foreign concept. They often move from house to house and have very few things they can truly call their own. And what they have they usually cart around in a trash bag.

Note: These kinds of articles piss me off. They quickly state a problem and promote the noble efforts of a few caring individuals as if they are the ultimate solution.

This is a diversionary tactic used by the child protective industry's public relations spin-doctors to take the focus off of the real problem. The real problem is that children have no stability, because the state sucks as parents, and they are bounced from foster home to foster home to group home to psyche ward and back again.

Thus I put forth the following thesis: A new backpack will not solve the problem of children being bounced from home to home in the foster care system. Instead, as it is all about appearances, it will encourage the problem of children being bounced around from home to home in the foster care system, because it's made all better because the kid has a new backpack.
