Stolen youth of SA's child brides

Stolen youth of SA's child brides

At the age of 14, Nolizwi Sinama set off from her aunt's home to a neighbouring village. She thought she had been sent on a routine chore. In fact, she was on her way to be married to a 42-year-old man.

  1. I remember writing a blog post about a story similar to this. It's sad how modern-day people have abused an old tradition.Back in the day, the bride could refuse, she could leave the guy's home and go home. Now they are being held against their will...Then again, I don't agree with the old practice either!
