MA woman seeks identity of sperm donor

A Massachusetts woman is suing a sperm bank for the identity of her donor so she can file a child support claim and get medical information to help treat an inherited condition she says her twin daughters have.

I confess, it was me, lol. All kidding aside, I agree with the judge's ruling THIS time. However, I thought that any donors had to release medical information to the depository (both men and women). I also thought that when you received a donation, you had to sign a document releasing the donor from any future monetary claims. If she's successful at this for child support, no one is going to donate and I don't blame them.

Now if he knowingly and willingly falsified medical records or failed to disclose known genetic problems, maybe that's different, I just don't know. I've never dealt with this situation before. I just don't think she has a leg to stand on when it comes to getting any child support from the donor. I mean doesn't the mother have to take SOME responsibility for this? When you go out and buy sperm and eggs, you really have no idea what you're getting. I hope there's follow up to this cos I'd love to know what happens.
