Alberta children’s services bureaucrat handed jail term for contempt

A director in the department of Children and Youth Services found guilty of contempt has been sentenced to eight days in jail for not returning a child to his foster mother after a court order to do so.

  1. Experience dictates a clear message: Lack of accountability and transparency in Governance. Repeatedly, it has been relayed: Canada operates within the scope of a Legal System, not a Justice System.

    Therefore, it is a refreshing perspective as Mason points out to actually find: “Just because you’re in government doesn’t mean you’re above the law and above the courts.”
