A lifetime of scars: the case worker's story

A lifetime of scars: the case worker's story

LAUREN Psaltis worked in child protection for about four years, far longer than most. "The average is about six months to a year," she says. "When you see young workers come through you think, 'OK, how long is this person going to be here for?' You almost watch people churn in and out."

    "Just remove the kid............."

I tseems to be the mantra all over the world.

I work in law and I have seen several cases wherer there is NOTHING-no case, no indication of abuse or neglect and yet, the manta is ,"Just remove the kid".

We have virtual children, CPS workers freesh out of college, just removing kids.

They are kids themselves, for God's sake.

In my experience these same workers berate parents for retaining private legal counsel and REFUSE to speak with same counsel or to advise their legal force to do so.

Don't trust them. If you are ever caught in the CPS web, hire competent private counsel immediately.
