Great Propaganda Tricks of Today (Propaganda: falsifying, altering or modifying information so as to produce a response in the recipient other than what would have resulted from a supply of totally factual, unadulterated information.)
NUMBER ONE: In order to get people thoroughly upset with someone, just accuse that someone of something. You don't have to prove your accusation. Just allege it. Repeat until it sticks in the public mind. The repetition of highly emotive words assists this process: for example by inserting the adjecyive "sinister" into every utterance.
NUMBER TWO: To assist you in number one above, spread the falsehood that "there's no smoke without fire." This is a handy false datum that has been around a long time and "everybody knows," and everybody misses the fact that a fire and a piece of information are entirely different things obeying entirely different laws. In any case, there is smoke without fire, as any chemist or movie special effects expert will tell you.
NUMBER THREE: Use harmless sounding euphemisms to make your most horrible crimes sound innocuous. Examples: "a change of regime," which means using military might to depose a dictator we originally installed and replacing him with a dictator who will do what we tell him; " our democracy" when you mean, "our corporate oligarchy;" "freedom" when you mean "doing what we tell you;" and "new world order," which actually means "profitable chaos."
Or "collateral damage," which means "we killed 'em but we don't care."
NUMBER FOUR: Accuse others of what you yourself are doing. Employ a great deal of moral outrage. That way everybody will be so busy looking where you have pointed your finder, they will not be looking at you. Impressed by your moral outrage they will never suspect that you are doing whatever it is you are outraged about.
NUMBER FIVE: Get your media busy cooking up one crisis after another so as to keep public attention thoroughly away from what they should really be worried about.
NUMBER SIX: Flood the marketplace with conspiracy theories, many of which should sound completely barmy. Create such a bewildering storm of conflicting messages as to become intellectual white noise. Overwhelmed and confused, the public will sink into an apathy below understanding. This is called the "wood-for-the-trees-gambit." The actual truth about what you are up to, should it surface, will become lost in the noise and discredited by association with all the half truths, blind alleys and exaggerations.

I should add that what is required for propaganda to be effective in manipulating mood in large numbers if people, is a multiplicity of sources. One newspaper for instance slagging off some minority in an effort to elect them the Devil will not ususally be enbough.
But several newspapers, various politicians, "spokesmen," "experts," "scientists," " and so forth all emanating the same message is a different matter. The ordinary citizen tends to receive information as an indovidual, a single viewpoint. he is rarely the recipient of a propagandized message as tthe meber of a powerful and numerous group with its own set of agreements. As such he is therefore eadily overwhelmes by a messgae that appears to come from very many sources.
Creating this multiplcity of sources is therefore an ingtedient of all successful propaganda and you will see it in all successful propaganda campaigns.

ReplyDelete1.voluntary: something said to give impression of there being an existence of rights,... but if you do not volunteer, you could be prosecuted to the fullest degree of the law by folks that are not qualified to make legal decisions, but expert at making allegations, and not telling you what you have supposedly done wrong, based totally on personal opinion,or many opinions at a meeting where they would have preferred to grill you, but still had fun indelibly marking your reputation now gone forever, to forever be eligible to actual courts review despite it only being conjecture...and then if you voluntarily do what is asked...still found at some kind of fault,repeatedly, while workers pretend to have helped, while actually leaving lives in shambles!
