Services reduce Solano's foster care placements

A new approach to child welfare is sweeping the nation, significantly reducing the number of children being placed into foster care, local officials say.

The changes are paying off in Solano County, social workers say, by allowing more children to remain safely at home through an enhanced network of voluntary and collaborative services.
