Getting along with the biological parents

Getting along with the biological parents

Sending schoolwork to the biological parent can help him or her feel a part of what their child is doing.

Being a foster parent often means playing nice with the people who have harmed or neglected the children in your care. Biological parents, their issue and their demands can often be the hardest part of being a foster parent. However, forging a constructive relationship, especially when the goal is reunification, can be beneficial for everyone.

    Isn't this a "no brainer?"

The foster parent writes as if she is a hero who is doing the natural family a special favour by being human.

Gosh, all the discriptors of what she allots to families as a "niceity" should be a given!

When I have a child in my home (not as a foster parent, but as respite provider to families of children with disabilities) anything I provide to my children, I ensure they have as well. Four carrots on your plate, 4 on yours as well! It should not be any other way!

I really find a sour taste in my mouth when people - particularly paid care providers, believe they are superior.

  2. A Foster Carer that believes in reunion with the natural Parents.this statement makes a change, as they are usually very biased.
Some of these Parents may of had Children wrongly taken into Care.
I wonder if the Lady concerned would do the job, if she had to work on the same money as a Kin carer?

OH My goodness, It is not "a no brainer." Have you tried to be rational with 30 day sober 18 YO? or get them involved with their kids school work?
