COULD YOU HAVE SAVED RICKY?

COULD YOU HAVE SAVED RICKY?

More than $1 million was spent in the investigation of Ricky Holland's disappearance, and still the mysteries and contradictions surrounding the 7-year-old's life and death were never fully resolved.

With many years as a CPS investigator behind me, I assure you that one competent investigation would have saved Ricky Holland. Just one. It never happened, and that should tell you everything you need to know about Michigan's system. Poor investigations = poor decisions. Over and over, the same problem occurs, and each time DHS feigns surprise, and worst of all, classifies the deaths as "isolated incidents" of failure. One obvious issue lies in the fact that a social worker is not an investigator, but don't try to mention that to DHS.
