Social services ‘should consider placing children with grandparents’

Social services ‘should consider placing children with grandparents’

SCOTLAND can avoid further cases like the Brandon Muir tragedy if social workers utilise the care on offer from wider family circles, protesters have heard.

A rally in Glasgow's George Square also heard that grandparents seeking contact with their grandchildren were being criminalised, with sex offenders afforded more leeway when trying to secure contact with young relatives.

  1. At last, some basic common sense.
Social Services should be using the Kincareship clause, as stated in the Public Law Guidelines, by placing a child with a immediate member of the Family, such as Grandparents, before a Child is ever placed into Foster Care.
this remedy would save millions of pounds of the Taxpayers money.
Foster Carers are paid up to £500 per child per week.
