Economy Causes More Children To Need Foster Care

Economy Causes More Children To Need Foster Care

In what may be a heartbreaking sign of the economic recession, more children are turning up in the foster care system and fewer families are willing to take them in.

Lighthouse Youth Services said it has seen an increase in the number of children who need foster homes. The group blames the economy.

  1. No wonder Foster Carers, can afford to look after Children within the Uk.
One lady that PAIN are advising has had four Children taken into Care, because her five month old baby suffered a unexplained fracture of the Clavicle, 3 of the Children have been placed with the same Foster Carers.
At nearly £500 per week for each Child, they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Kin carers have to manage on the basic Carers rate, which is about £75 per week, and many Grandparents that use the Kin care clause, often suffer from financial hardship.
No Child should ever be taken away from their Parents, due to money woes.

I agree with you all the way Alison. Parents should never lose their children because of money. But they want the kids, especially the babies.

Poverty makes one an easy target. If you can't afford to fight back then you will probably loose. That's why they take so many kids from that sort of a situation.
