Officials question funding, performance of child-abuse response teams

Officials question funding, performance of child-abuse response teams

In early January, Marion County commissioners received a $42,800 bill.

The county was asked to pay for initial medical exams conducted throughout the year by medical teams specially trained in evaluating children believed to have been abused, abandoned or neglected.

  1. I hope that the questioning that is performed prevents the teams from adequately diagnosing any child abuse cases. The only way to prevent child abuse is to inform the public on how to "see" it and take the proper steps in preventing any further abuse.
