The Act passed the Michigan House 107-0 on March 13 and is being sent to the Senate. The House unanaimous passage represents a statement that enough is enough and that Michigan is ready to protect the Stimulus money when it flows. The money is like honey flowing and we need all the help that we can get to keep the killer bees away. The federal counterpart act is the most effective fraud fighting weapon the feds have.

Well, it seems now that HB 4117 is off to the Senate Judiciary Committee, Chaired by the pharmaceutical industry's venerable Senator Wayne Kuipers. That's right folks, the drug companies' little action figure is ready to shove this one under the table, just like he did with HB 5757, the Medicaid False Claims Act.

I will taking bets that this one never makes it to the table. I mean, why would he want to bite the hand that feeds him, oops, I mean the pharmaceutical lobbyists that are willing to fund his future political career.

Senator Wayne Kuipers, we here at Legally Kidnapped are calling you out.

Stop protecting those who commit federal fraud!
